About the job
In this role, cutting tools are designed and developed for AM – from early R&D prototypes for concept evaluation to standard and custom solutions. High quality requirements and performance standards guide every step, and to shape practical, production-ready designs, you analyze equipment specifications and process requirements. You work closely with product development and collaborate with our Technical Center for machining, finishing, and internal testing.
Included in your job:
Creating complex tool designs adapted for AM.
Supporting other designers both within Seco and Sandvik with design for AM.
Occasional involvement in customer-related matters where it might be needed.
With freedom and flexibility, driving your own initiatives and design projects forward.
Location and flexibility
You’re based in Fagersta, with most of the working time on-site. Occasional travel may be needed.
Your profile
We’re looking for someone with solid understanding in design engineering – ideally with a background within AM. Knowledge in softwares as Siemens NX, Ntopology, Ansys, as well as in structural simulation and optimization methods is meriting.
You bring:
A basic understanding of manufacturing, measuring, quality control.
Strong communication skills in English, verbally and in writing. Knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
Curiosity, a structured way of working, and an analytical mindset that helps you see both the bigger picture and the details.
An open mind, allowing you to challenge assumptions and find better solutions.
